As parents, we want our kids to succeed. Just what do you do though, when you have a child who doesn't pay attention in school (ADD) or a child who consistently reverses letters (Dyslexia)? There are real solutions for those seeking answers about these and other disorders at parentpatch.com. Parents can find help for most anything that is classified as a Special Need.

The site is divided into easy to find sections especially if you use the Directory. Click on the Special Needs page and find articles on: ADD/ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, Tourette Syndrome, Learning Disabilities, Hearing Impaired and other topics. They even address IEP meetings. For those of us who have children who need additional support, the outcome of the IEP meeting is to outline a specific goal for your child to meet in the upcoming year. For parents who may not be sure what their rights are related to special school services, they are outlined in the article.

I don't know of anyone who isn't affected by a child with a special need. This website has a number of discussion boards that address various subjects. I chose to look closely at ADD/ADHD because it seems to be the most common. For those who need answers or just need to vent, check out the boards. (This applies to parents of the children as well as grandparents, caregivers and friends.)

Teachers and Home schooling parents are also invited to visit this site. There is a wealth of information available here for both parents and educators. School project ideas, puppets, homework helpers, and many other creative ideas just to mention a few.

This site also features educational yet fun things to do with kids. For anyone who is looking for information, resources and support, they will find it here. Until next time.
