Advice for Pet Owners I recently saw a sign on the front door of a craft store. It said, "Any child left unattended will be given a free kitten to take home." What a kind way to force parents to mind their children! In case you missed that warning, here is a great site for new pet owners to get helpful advice.
First I will say that this site (hosted by veterinarians in Jupiter, Florida) is extremely easy to search. Each of the icons along the top of the home page has a pull down menu. The menus give you specific information on what can be found on that particular page. You can purchase books online related to your pet. Downloads of screensavers, pet postcards (I'm not sure if you're supposed to send your pet a card or if it is an animal card sent to a human friend- check for yourself), as well as creating your own pet website are found here. The most painful aspect of owning an animal is when that beloved creature dies. For many it truly is "like losing a child." There is a dedicated page just for bereavement. It can be found at the bottom of the page and is titled Pet Loss. A discussion board is available if you are in need of comfort. Or maybe you can be the one to offer a comforting word to another pet owner. We can't forget how comical our animal friends can be. There are jokes, cartoons and even photo contests. I like the informational articles found here on caring for your pet. The Pet Links Directory is chock full of related websites. Don't miss it. Until next time.
