Dear Donna:
Please send me information with regards from working at
home. I am a mother of two children seeking employment from
home.
Thank you for your expected cooperation.

Dear X: Hi - I'm afraid your request is simply too general
to answer in an email. Working from home is a big topic - Are
you looking for at home employment or a home business? Part
time or full time? What are your skills, interests and experience?
What kind of hours will work for you? How much money can you
get by with right now? What are your ultimate (not short term)
goals?
You may already know the answers to these questions - but then
again, you may not. That is OK. The first step in finding work
you can do at home is research, and by visiting our website,
you have begun that process. And before you take the next step,
you need to be very clear on what you are really looking for.
The one thing I do not provide is an employment service. I
am not a job counselor. I cannot give my site visitors a magic
pill that will turn into lucrative at-home part time income.
What you will find on the ParentPreneur site is information
- and pointers to places where you may discover the direction
you wish to turn.
As my daughter grows, she needs me home more and not
less - I am convinced that at home work is the only
way I can contribute to our family's income needs and
be the mother my little girl needs. My own personal experience
is that the only way to do it - make all your own hours and
have the flexibility you need to be there for your kids is to
be your own boss and start your own business. But everyone is
different and everyone's situation is different, and even though
work at home jobs are hard to find, they are out there and lots
of moms get them and make them work.
I guess what I am trying to say is working at home in any capacity
is not easy - but if you are disposed to it, it is a lifestyle
that works. If you are interested in finding a business you
can do from home, keep looking at ParentPreneur.com
and the many related sites you will find in our links directory
(best categories would be For ParentPreneurs, which are sites
specifically for moms and dads who have home businesses and
Home Business, which are home biz sites for everyone). Look
for a business opportunity at our parent site, NoBoss.com.
Be warned that starting a business is an arduous process -
you can expect to put in lots and lots of hours without making
a profit right away - but the time benefits for many are worth
it - and the potential is huge (you are only limited by what
you can do instead of someone else's arbitrary salary cap).
If you are looking for at home employment (i.e., you
expect to receive a salary working for someone else - from home)
- you'll find links under the subject Work at Home. My favorite
home JOBS site is Moms-Home-Work.com.
Webmaster Barb Niehaus puts out a daily work at home jobs bulletin,
and does a good job of screening out the scams (as she is just
a one-woman operation and mother of four, there is only so much
she can do, and occasionally, one will slip in - but that is
a very rare occurrence).
Other great work at home sites are:
http://www.2work-at-home.com
http://www.wahm.com
One thing to remember when applying for at-home employment:
NEVER EVER give someone money up front to find you a
job!!
There are lots of other rules and considerations, but like
I said, the topic is too complex to cover in an email. I hope
I have given you enough to start with.
Good luck in your search!
- Donna
